Rockies Road Exped

Its been a long time since I made something for the first time. And now the time has come to do something that is quite challenging for the first time.

I've never been in a "real" mountain climbing before kaya this would be one hell of an exciting trip.

Me, Donna, Pro and Cora with his bro and his friend as our guides a-k-a Team Buktoo, headed the way to Batangas.

We jumped off at Cuenca around noon and took our lunch at a local canteen. After filling up our tummies, the trek is on to the rugged terrain of Mt Makulot.

At first, I thought this is just gonna be a piece of cake since its a beginner's mountain, but it's way to different and tough. Not to mention, dragging an acrophobic brat along the trek (peace Donna, wehehehe).

After a long five-minute times infinity walk (equivalent to almost two hours), we finally reached the camp site at the summit of Mt. Makulot, 835 meters (approx 2,740 feet) above sea level. At last we made it. yahooo!

We thought reaching the summit is the hardest part of the trail but apparently there's still something that's in store for us that will take our breathe away.

After setting-up our tent and Kuya Tolits' tent which is really just a piece of cake for us, we had a cool halo-halo, yup you heard that right, halo-halo on top of the mountain. Then we followed Kuya Wing and Kuya Tolits to the other side of the summit to see the sunset. And boom! we saw this sheer, rocky mountain called the "Rockies" just across the other side of the mountain. I thought our guides were just joking but Kuya Wing said that we need to climb it to visibly and clearly see the sunset and a good vantage-point for viewing the sceneric Taal Lake.

The acrophobic Donna was scared at first, but after giving her the full support and you-can-do-it motivation she needed we assaulted the Rockies.

After the rocky experience, we made it and this time-- we screamed the real "yahooo!" The view was awesome, we're just in time to view Taal lake at sunset. Cool talaga!

I screamed everything from my thought regarding "Cyrus", and it was a total relief. hahaha!

Certainly, this is one of the experiences I won't forget.

I would like to thank our guides, Kuya Tolits and Kuya Wing for leading our way to the top. Till our next awesome trekking, todo na toh sa Mt Everest na, wekekeke.
